was recognized as Sussex Central Middle School’s Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Patricia Bagley
was recognized as Sussex Central Middle School’s Instructional
Technology Staff Member of year.

Participated in the
following workshops presented by the Rawls Art Museum: “That’s Me:
Portraits” and “Looking at Our Lives: A Tile Mural Workshop

Collected 600 canned
foods for the needy in our 2nd annual Christmas Canned
Food Drive

Sponsored a float
and won first place in the 2011 Waverly Christmas Parade

Participated in the
“Get Active, Get Fit School Challenge” Program sponsored statewide
by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in partnership with Radio
Disney to promote healthy, active lifestyles

Provided
after-school tutorial programs in all SOL tested subject areas
through 21st CCLC – served 178 students with 9 students
attending more than 30 sessions.

D.A.R.E. Program and
Too Good for Drugs Program to encourage students to make good
choices

21st
Century Community-MARS Summer Leadership Camp (2012) – Served 51
campers by providing academic support and enrichment experiences to
enhance good character, build teamwork and personal responsibility.
The campers traveled to the Baltimore Aquarium, the Smithsonian
National Museum of Natural History, Virginia Commonwealth
University, Peak Experiences, and the Newport News Park.

SOL Lock-In (8:00 PM to 8:30 AM) to motivate and provided additional
assistance for SOL assessments

SOL Parent Nights to
emphasize math and reading strategies parents can use at home to
support learning

Participated in the "Pennies for
Patients" Program and raised $179.11 to benefit The Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society
