We have just wrapped up a very busy and exciting week at SCES, and we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support. This week included Coffee with the Principals, our second-grade students beginning swimming lessons, the PTA fundraiser kick-off, and our first round of checkpoint assessments. It has been wonderful to see our students and teachers working extremely hard, and we are very pleased with the progress our students are making so far this year.
We would also like to invite you to join us for Interim Report Card Pickup on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 4:30–7:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, review progress, and discuss ways to support continued growth. If you are not able to attend, please call the school to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher at a time that works for you and your child’s teacher.
Our PTA does amazing things for our students, staff, and entire school community. From sponsoring special events, supporting classroom initiatives, organizing family engagement activities, and providing resources that directly benefit our students, their impact is truly felt each day. In order for them to continue providing these wonderful opportunities, they must raise funds throughout the year.
On behalf of our faculty and staff, I kindly ask that you support our PTA’s Fall Glow Party Fundraiser. Please use the following link to get started: http://www.themegablast.com/join/Sussex Your participation and generosity will help ensure that our students continue to enjoy the many activities, programs, and experiences that make our school such a special place.
Reminder for Second Grade Families: Students attending swimming lessons must wear their bathing suit underneath their clothes. Students cannot wear gym shorts in place of a bathing suit. Please also send a towel with your child each day they have lessons so they are fully prepared.
As always, one of the most important factors in student success is the partnership between home and school. We encourage you to stay in constant communication with your child’s teachers. Your involvement and support truly makes a difference and will pay dividends in your child’s growth and achievement.
As we close out the week and head into the weekend, we hope you find time to relax, rejuvenate, and do the things that bring you joy. Thank you for all that you do to support our school community.
