Please note that travel conditions, traffic, or other unforeseen circumstances may affect the buses' arrival time. We appreciate your patience and understanding should there be any delays.

Dear Parents and Guardians: Sussex Central Elementary School will have registration for Pre-K/Kindergarten students on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Attention Rising 12th Grade TIGER Nation Families!
Before the first day of school, all students entering 12th grade must meet Virginia's immunization requirements.
Required Immunizations:
✅ Meningococcal ACWY (MenACWY) vaccine (must be given after the student's 16th birthday)
✅ HPV Vaccine – Dose 2 (Parents/guardians may choose to opt out of the HPV vaccine after reviewing the required educational materials, in accordance with Virginia law.)
📋 Important: Immunization documentation must be submitted before the first day of school. Students who do not have the required immunizations on file will not receive a class schedule or be permitted to attend school until all requirements are met.
📍 Submit immunization records to the Sussex Central High School Main Office.
⏰ If your student still needs these vaccines, please schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

If your child attends the 21st Century summer program, they will be traveling to Pocahontas State Park on tomorrow, Monday, June 29, 2026. Students will depart from Sussex Central High School and return at 4:00 p.m. Please keep in mind that there may be factors that prohibit the buses from arriving back at the scheduled time. We will try to send an alert via this platform should the buses plan to arrive later than expected. Thank you for your patience.
Students will complete an educational tour and they will be allowed to swim in the pool. Please note: Second through fifth-grade students will only be allowed to swim in the 3 feet pool. There will be at least 15 supervising adults and the park has at least 8 qualified lifeguards on duty. Please send swim wear and monies to make food purchases from the park. There will be lunch provided from the school as well.

Many of our students and staff already know Mr. Augcomfar through his outstanding service as a long-term substitute teacher and his dedication to our student-athletes as a coach for several SCHS sports programs. His commitment to supporting students both in the classroom and on the field has made a lasting impact on our Tiger community.
In his new role, Mr. Augcomfar will help guide and support our Middle College students as they pursue college coursework and prepare for future success. We are excited to see the positive influence he will continue to have on our students and school.
