September is Attendance Awareness Month, a nationwide recognition of the connection between consistent school attendance and academic achievement. This month highlights the importance of mobilizing schools, families, and community partners to promote regular attendance by developing tiered supports and personalized interventions to reduce chronic absence. Our middle schoolers will explore "ALEBRIJES: Creatures of a Dreamworld," an outdoor art exhibition making its debut at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Students will discover large-scale, brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures that combine features of real and mythical animals. Guided tours will teach them about Mexican culture, storytelling, and the art of paper-mâché (cartonería). Additionally, students will connect art to science by observing how nature inspires these figures while exploring the garden's plant ecosystems.
If your child received a permission slip, please return it by this Friday, September 11, 2026.

Our Stuff’d Pals Fundraiser is off to an amazing start – thank you to everyone who has registered and participated so far! In one week of our campaign, we’ve had:
104 students/families register
1,252 emails loaded into the system
$4,423 raised toward our $15,000 goal!
👏 Incredible work, everyone! Our fundraiser goes for one more week so make sure you register, load 10 emails and win the Five Golden Ticket prizes for your student. It is not too late. Don’t miss this awesome event! This only takes 5 minutes participate.
💡 Haven’t Registered Yet?
There’s no selling, no money to collect, and no products to handle. All we need is for you to take just a five minutes to:
✅ Register your student
✅ Enter 10 valid adult emails
That’s it! Your student will be eligible to earn an adorable 16” Stuff’d Pal Reading Buddy just for participating.
